Procedure

Sprinkle Carbopol on the surface of the water. When fully hydrated, stir for 30 min (50 rpm). Add phase B to A and stir until solubilized (100 rpm). In a separate beaker, combine ingredients of phase C and stir until clear (100 rpm) Add to mix. Add the remaining phases (D, F, G) in the above order while stirring (100 rpm) Adjust pH to 5-5.5 with phase E while stirring (100 rpm) Adjust viscosity with phase I while stirring slowly (50 rpm.

Properties

pH—5.00; Appearnace—white shampoo; Viscosity (Brookfield, 20°C 20 rpm)—5700 mPas; Stability—12 weeks at RT and 40°C. *Recommended preservation was checked by a Challenge-Test according to European Pharmacopoeia.
